Cuisine and Coastlines 🏖️

Salut Les Amis! Greetings from West Palm Beach Florida, where I am attending the wedding of a close friend and taking a much-needed breather from the freezing temperatures over on the East Coast. Quick announcement before we begin, I am about to release the first song from my upcoming debut EP Turill on the 27th of December. 🎵🔥 Raspberry Ripple will be out on ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS! Yes, you heard it, no more wondering where you can find my music and I hope it finds its way into all of your playlists! 🙏😊

If I was to sum up my entire trip to Florida in word, I would have to say “delicious”. The amount of options for cuisines and their authenticity is something that is genuinely missing from a lot of the restaurants around Philly. That is not to say that Philly does not have good restaurants, but I have reason to believe that the freshness of ingredients used in the preparation of these dishes has a part to play in their ultimate taste.

For example, when we were at a classic tacos and margarita place, the guacamole was made fresh beside your table by a member of the waiting staff. The entire process takes about 5 minutes but what emerges from that is something so simple yet one of the best things I have tasted. I would not know what the secret is and my best guess is that it would be the ease with which the avocado is sourced. But I would not miss going back there again if I ever find myself roaming the charming Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach. One of the most relieving things is the availability of inexpensive parking lots on every corner of the street!

A short drive from our AirBnb in West Palm is South Beach in Miami. We had saved an entire afternoon that went well into the early hours of next morning as expected. South Beach has something for everyone including cuisine and things to do. there are a variety of clubs, beach view restaurants and french cafe’s for a late-night coffee or even a SANDWICH! La Sandwicherie is a dainty little corner French cafe, serves fresh sandwiches well into the AM. If you ever crave a delicous sandwich made with the freshest ingredients, I highly recommend La Sandwicherie. And for the folks like me who never end a meal without a sweet, I indulged myself in a Nutella Croissant! A tote bag to always remember the place has been secured and it is currently my favorite among a collection of many such! Here is a picture of the Tote Bag, I just posted on Twitter! 😊

I hope you have a great week!

PS: I recently launched my website with the help of amazing folks at Supertape. Supertape is a three person software company founded by musicians and their roots lie in design, tech and media! I had a fantastic experience designing my website alongwith their templates. For some one who does not know anything about coding, it was the easiest onboarding process, all of my socials and music platforms were linked seamlessly into the website and it even gave me an iption of selecting a custom domain for myself! The founders are super amazing folks and they were quick to respond to all of my questions via email! You can check out Supertape here in case any of you are looking to build your own website! And if you want to check out the website I built for myself, you can visit ameyaxoxo.com

Quote of the Week

Anonymous Creativity: Have you ever thought about it? We want to be famous as a writer, as a poet, as a painter, as a politician, as a singer, or what you will. Why? Because we really don't love what we are doing. If you loved to sing, or to paint, or to write poems-if you really loved it—you would not be concerned with whether you are famous or not. To want to be famous is tawdry, trivial, stupid, it has no meaning; but, because we don't love what we are doing, we want to enrich ourselves with fame. Our present education is rotten because it teaches us to love success and not what we are doing. You are just a creative human being living anonymously, and in that there is richness and great beauty

Sunflower Tape Machine is the pseudonym and experimental solo project of full time indie/psychedelic rock and shoegaze musician, Aryaman Singh. Hailing from Chennai and inspired by the sounds of bands like Tame Impala, Men I Trust and, my bloody valentine, his upcoming projects consist of wavy ambient textures, dreamy chords and, 80’s inspired analog synth sounds.
